Special Town Meeting Monday Night

Landslide victory for Wilmington’s new high school

On Tuesday, December 5th, Wilmington voted overwhelmingly to build a new high school.  75% of the voters voted in favor of the 2 1/2 override.  The new high school is expected to cost $82.6 million.  Of the $82.6 million, the state will pay $37.99 million and the town will be responsible for the remaining $44.19 [...]

New video: Aerial view of proposed project

Our architecture firm, Dore and Whittier, created a simulated aerial view of the proposed school project.  The movie “flies” the viewer 360 degrees around the school.  Narration points out highlights along the way.  Check out the new movie on YouTube, along with our other videos on the project.

LEED Silver Certification

North Reading’s secondary school project (the new high school and renovated middle school) will be targeting LEED Silver certification.  LEED measures a building’s water and energy efficiency, use of sustainable materials, indoor environment quality, and other “green” areas.  To learn more about LEED, check out the website of the US Green Building Council.

Community Forum November 29th

The Secondary School Building Committee (SSBC) invites the community to attend an informational forum to be held in the High School Auditorium on Tuesday November 29th at 7 PM.  The SSBC has exciting news to share about the proposed middle/high school project.
