In 2010, North Reading has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to receive substantial funds from the Massachusetts School Building Authority to build a new or improve the existing High School and/or Middle School.
We need your support now. Please come to the Town Meeting, June 7th, 2010, in the high school auditorium and vote to fund the feasability study. This study will determine how to best update our middle and high school facilities.

Mission of the SSBC: “To find a cost effective, forward thinking solution for the North Reading secondary school buildings that meets the needs of the School Committee’s desired curriculum, with a low impact to the environment, and serves the community for the next 40 years”
Charge of the SSBC: (As charged by the North Reading School Committee May, 2005). “The Secondary School Building Committee will carry out all phases of the building projects including the Design Phases, Construction Phases and reimbursement application for renovations, additions and/or construction of a new high school on town-owned property.” The School Committee has also given the SSBC specific responsibilities.
Mission of the website: This website is maintained by the Secondary Schools Building Committee to communicate to the North Reading community the needs of the town’s Middle and High Schools and our progress towards meeting those needs.
